Thing Thing

There is some unique but wonky gunplay here as gun's actually have pretty beefy recoil. Unusual for a side scrolling shooter but it adds a bit of challange to an otherwise simple game.
Thing Thing 2

in a odd design choice, all of your enimies (save for the final boss) in this game charge at you with their fists. Almost kind of making Thing Thing 2 an hoard shooter as you need to wrack up kills to open doors in each level. This makes combat very awkward as thebullet from your gun leaves from the barrel which makes you shoot through any enemies that are right next to you. There is a punch button but I didn't know that till I beat the game three times (Always read the instructions!). I found it more effective however to just run through enimies to distance myself and group them up for an easier time.
Since enimies dont have weapons, you can only get new ones by getting a high score per level (I think its about 60 kills per level). However, enimies do drop ammo and more rarely a derringer which is a 1 headshot kill weapon. Each drop only gives you 2 bullets but they can be stacked (though the aammo count is untracked)
Health also regenerates slowly as opposed to the first game's medpacks
Thing Thing 3

Gameplay wise, Thing Thing 3 follows the same format as TT2, except enemies now have guns and some doors can only be opened with a keycard. Levels are more vertical however this makes navigation quite a pain
